Akshay Kumar‘s Toilet Ek Prem Katha is definitely a hit. Made on a budget of Rs 18 crore, Shree Narayan Singh’s directorial venture has been busy minting profit since the second day of its release. After breaking the box-office jinx by earning Rs 50 crore in its opening weekend, expectations were high that Toilet Ek Prem Katha will enter the Rs 100-crore club within a week of its release.
However, Akshay’s film failed to achieve that feat within seven days of its release. Toilet Ek Prem Katha, which collected Rs 89.95 crore till Wednesday, has reportedly earned another Rs 6 crore (approx) on its Day 7, thus taking the total to Rs 95.95 crore (approx).

Toilet Ek Prem Katha revolves around the story of Keshav (Akshay) who wants to get married. Despite being a manglik, Keshav finds the love of his life in Jaya (Bhumi) and they live happily ever-after.
It is for the first time that Akshay has been paired opposite Bhumi. Inspired from PM Narendra Modi‘s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the film has received a mixed response from critics. However, Akshay’s fans have given the film a thumbs up. And his fandom is translating into numbers at the box office.
